Martha Stewart Slams Gwyneth Paltrow Again, This Time in Pie Article

Martha Stewart

The feud between Martha Stewart and Gwyneth Paltrow continues; though it seems the feud is more one-sided with Stewart taking constant barbs at the actress, who has yet to say anything negative about the celebrity lifestyle maven. When Steward recently told Net-A-Porter than Paltrow is an actress and that she should just “go away,” and that if she was, “confident in her acting, she wouldn’t be trying to be Martha Stewart,” Paltrow merely responded by saying, “I don’t take it personally,” and, “If I’m honest, I’m so psyched that she sees us as competition.”

Apparently that wasn’t enough for Stewart, who seems to have a real problem with Paltrow and her Goop website, the hiring of her former CEO Lisa Gersh, and the fact that she’s been working hard to enter the lifestyle business. Her latest jab at Paltrow was pretty obvious. Stewart included a spread in the November edition of Martha Stewart Living called Conscious Coupling, a piece about pie fillings for the holiday season. Seems pretty innocent, doesn’t it? After all, when Paltrow admitted to the world on her Goop website that she and her husband of 10 years, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, were consciously uncoupling, the world went nuts using the phrase for everything. However, Stewart goes just a bit farther.

In the article, she relates everything back to Paltrow, suggesting many things about Paltrow’s marriage.

“Every Thanksgiving table should be blessed with the presence of a long-married pair who bring out the best in each other, are completely enamored despite their differences, and leave every other guest thinking, I’ll have what they’re having. Our holiday pies honor such so there’s a pleasant mix of textures and flavors in every bite. No matter how you slice partnerships, each spotlighting the perfect marriage of crust and filling these six irresistible desserts, there is a whole lot to love,” she says in the introductory paragraph to her article. How will Paltrow respond to that?
